Ashton "Ash" Lyle Grace
"quote"
Personality: Ashton is someone who holds his personal feelings very close to heart. The person he appears to be on the surface is a carefully maintained wall to protect his sensitive and wounded core. He can be antagonistic and outright cold, prideful, as well as cynical. He brushes people off and doesn’t make friends well. But to anyone who spends even a little bit of time with him can see that he is more than that. When he doesn’t feel the need to put up pretenses, he’s actually a pretty quiet guy who likes simple activities like sitting on the couch watching tv or cooking a warm meal. He’s prone to long periods of introspection that border on overthinking and can work himself into either a depressed state or a savage one. He takes most things very seriously, whether it be an insult, studying, or fulfilling a promise. He’s obsessive in this way, rarely giving up on any idea he fully commits to. He puts a lot of emotional context on objects so he’s attached to random things and hates to have others touch them, most especially his guitar.
However, he wasn’t always like this. He was always an obsessive and serious child who didn’t show his emotions well but he was attached to his older brother, adoring and wanting to be like him. Losing his brother left an open wound in his heart, that, without a support system, has left him closed to the world, unwilling to hurt again. |
Age: 25
Gender: male Species: human Orientation: Bisexual, Demisexual/romantic Status: taken by Hockley (Wings of Writing) Occupation: Amateur musician Appearance: Pale with light muscle mass, he’s someone made of sharp but well proportioned angles. He’s always been considered beautiful with naturally smokey and heavily lashed eyes that either give him an angry and cold look or a sexy one. It’s nothing he’s put much effort into. He rarely smiles in a bright and cheerful way, only managing brief grins and a few smirks. Standing at 5’7”, he’s average in that regard with dark brown hair that he occasionally lightens by a shade or two and brown eyes to match. His clothing is fashionable and simple with a sexy edge—half unbuttoned shirts, the occasional necklace or bracelet and light styling on his hair that shows off the pair of rings in his cartilage. Dark/black jeans are his staple. He doesn’t put a lot of effort into getting ready for the day. Likes: Clean, organized spaces, guitar, punk rock, niche and unknown artists, and cooking, especially Italian and Spanish foods. Dislikes: The smell of mint and daisies, getting a haircut, and anything with vinegar in it. Bio: The youngest son born to an upper class family, he’s been allowed to do whatever he wants his entire life—music lessons, modeling classes, martial arts. It was the same for his older brother, Blair, but where nothing really stuck for Ashton, music became a driving force in Blair’s life. Neither of them were close with their parents but despite the four year age difference between them, Ashton always looked up to his brother. It didn’t matter that Blair was always a wild card, falling into the wrong crowds as he started his career as the guitarist for Black Void, seemingly becoming famous overnight. The little brother he always treasured became something of a nuisance, causing an eventual fallout, though Ashton still thought so highly of his brother. Everyone said Blair was a lost cause. His parents disowned him when they found out about the drugs. Even his bandmates started to turn on him until finally it was over. Blair OD’ed backstage after a concert. Surprising everyone, what with their fallout, he left all of his money to Ashton who has used it to coast through life, unable to hold a real job. His parents divorced not long after, his father turning his back on Ashton, seeing the same future for him, while his mother has tried her best to reach out. They aren’t close but he talks to her at least once a month and has forged some kind of bond. He’s still in touch with a few members of Black Void as well, especially after asking to fill his brother’s role. Just a few sessions together said that wasn’t a good idea. He learned music from his brother and plays relatively well but it was never his dream until Blair’s death. He’s performed a few times in clubs and made online videos, but it’s not a real profession. It’s been two years since Blair’s death and the wound is calloused, but still there. |
