Ryver Astley
"quote"
Bio: Born as a 'flower child', his mother had him entered in baby beauty contests from infant hood and even had him do child modeling, though he found himself suffocated by the environment and quit half way though sixth grade. He was gifted with studies but it seemed that his looks still overshadow his skills. He thought by rebelling and joining the music scene, he would be able to escape, but the damage was already done to his psyche. His past experience with modeling was what the company used to bolster his popularity and the constant focus on his looks as 'marketable' finally drove him to insanity. He scarred his arms with glee, which led to prescribed pain meds, which led to abuse and addiction. His beautiful looks became disgusting in his eyes and his acknowledgment of his worth at zero. His band, which had until this point functioned as simple business partners, noticed the signs and forced him into rehab. It's led him on the path of required counseling and mental health check ins but there are times he wonders if he's even worth it all.

Age: 24
Gender: Male Species: Human Orientation: Bisexual Status: Single Occupation: Guitarist and subvocal of Amber Rose Appearance: At 5'9", he has a slender body just toned enough to not look frail and a warm skin tone to match. His amber eyes are round and framed in dark lashes. His nose is thin and elegant over equally elegant lips. He's been called feminine but only in that he's beautiful in a way men so rarely are. His nose, lip, and ear piercings give him an edge but in no way detract from his beauty. And, of course, his golden hair is the star of the show with it's tousled curls that often flop over and eye and trail down to his neck. He rarely ties it up but he will wear a headband when trying to focus on his guitar playing. Likes: People brushing his hair, flower tattoos, really long showers, nature walks, and honey. Dislikes: Being called pretty, pain, noisy parties, and alcohol. Personality: Most people see what the media wants--a prince-like figure with a bad boy edge. He's charismatic, distant in the most tantalizing way, and surprisingly down to earth. None of these things are lies but even people close to Ryver don't see how broken he is. He keeps people away without seeming like he's pushing and when he doesn't smile, it doesn't feel like he's depressed. However, he's anxious about even the most simple conversations, wondering if people are only saying things just to be nice or because they want in his pants. He hates almost everything about himself and has lost all faith in compliments. He knows he needs help but it's hard to find the motivation for it. Because, the worst part is, he's internalized all the vapid things people have said about him. He is just a pretty face. A pretty face holding a guitar and nothing more. |
