Yang Li
"I am Yang Li, eldest son of the emperor that rules this great nation to which even the sun belongs to! I found and now wear this ring. Does that mean you also belong to me, jinni?"
Personality: A serious and greedy man, he longs for the power necessary to rule his country justly and completely, without waver. With little room for superstition, he's grown quickly out of boyhood and wonder under the mantle of first prince. And yet he is startled by the youthfulness of others and wishes to protect that naivety that lets one dream and fight for it. As much as he views Yang Zhen as incompetent and unfit to be a ruler, he thinks the boy might save them all. It makes him envious and protective, but always distant.
He's a natural commander and gives orders easier than takes them. He's a good planner and smart, but because of his hubris, he rarely takes other's advice into account and tends to storm off to do things as he wishes. Would prefer to reach his goals using his own hands than those of his servants. He accepts orders only from his father and to the emperor, he shows the utmost respect. |
