Emery Pearsen
"quote"
Bio: From the very beginning Emery is always dragging Samir into trouble, getting them into places they shouldn’t be and getting them covered in mud and driving both their parents to frustration. The two are always together, so much so that if one pair of parents is missing a kid, they just call the others; certain the two will be together. Emery doesn’t start feeling trapped by the idea of having always known his mate until much later, when he realizes you don’t get to have that odd-defying romance when you mate has always been by your side. When you’re part of a pair from the beginning. By age 18, the attachment to Samir (and Samir’s dependency on him) is starting to chafe. Everyone expects it all to be so perfect all the time. After all, they’re set for life, right? And maybe they are, but why does that feel trite? He’s the one to propose the split. He loves Samir, but he needs to know they can be separate people. That they can both exist as two wholes, not each as one half of one.

Age: 26 (current), Story crosses their entire lives
Gender: male Species: human Orientation: tba Status: taken by Samir Occupation: author and English tutor Appearance: 5’10” long and thin, long limbs and a slight angular but pretty face. He’s got dark hair naturally but his look matches his free spirit nature. His hair changes colors on a regular basis, though not always into wild primary colors; he’s had pretty much every hair color that is an option, though he’s also had to go back to his natural color several times to keep his hair healthy. He’s got several tattoos, most notably a series of stars around his left eye (like Kat Von D). He's also got a tattoo on his left wrist that says 'do I dare?' from the Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock, which he shares with Samir. His other tattoos are a koi on his left calf and a stack of books on his right calf. Then he's got a rainbow feather that starts low on his right arm and leads to black birds flying away, capped off with a large gold finch in flight on his right shoulder. His clothing is a much of a mishmash, favoring brighter colors and perhaps the odd color combo here or there, but it fits him. Even as a kid he dressed this way, except then the colors and patterns were even bolder. Likes: Dislikes: After college, he started writing his own stories, even managing to get published. Though he can’t support himself from his books yet, he tutors to make up for it. He spends his years without Samir, traveling when he can and exploring the world and imparting that same joy and love for true love overcoming all in the kids he teaches. All throughout it, thinking about the mate he left, but never more confident in his choice for them to do this. Personality: As a kid, he was bright-eyed and energetic. He loved hearing bed time stories about daring people defying the odds to be with their soulmates. So when Emery first finds Samir at such a young age, he’s thrilled. It’s all those bedtime stories coming true! Even as an adult, Emery’s a free-spirit with the same love of daring stories. He was never the quiet one or the studious child. And yet, no one disliked him for it with such a colorful demeanor. Though he made the decision to split ways with Samir, he's never stopped loving the other boy and misses him terribly. No matter the distance, he thinks of Samir often and knows when they are ready, he wants to be together again. He had just started to feel so trapped by the expectation and yet, he doesn't regret his choice at all. They needed this this. Maybe more than anything. |
